What will you do as a Back-end Developer at De Jongens?
Your day starts with a stand-up with the team, where you discuss the projects you’re currently working on. From there, you dive into the tasks that you and your team have previously estimated and prioritized.
You’ll work in short sprints on web applications that are functionally rock-solid, stable and high-performing. You’ll collaborate with a team of strategists, designers and front-end developers who all share the same goal. With your creative input, you’ll help take our systems to the next level. We strongly believe in your ability to add value and drive innovation.
Our platforms are built on a custom-developed CMS based on Symfony, combined with a number of Laravel-inspired structures. Keeping our projects maintainable and avoiding unnecessary overhead in the core is important to us. We achieve this by applying a combination of Domain-Driven Design and version control.
As a back-end developer, you’ll work on maintaining and expanding the CMS and optimizing our workflows. You’ll also work closely with the front-end team on projects involving custom functionality and external integrations, connecting external data through APIs.
Our front-end is built into the CMS using Twig, JavaScript and Swup, allowing content to be loaded dynamically. Together with a third-party partner, we think through the ideal hosting solution for each project, creating a robust plan with the future in mind.
