The digital epicentre of hard dance music
Hardstyle.com has been the go-to platform for the harder styles since 2009. In 2021, the brand set out to evolve, beyond downloads, beyond charts, into a modern digital hub for music, artists, events and fans worldwide. DJVB led the transformation, building a future-proof platform where content and commerce merge at full volume.
Challenge
The legacy PHP-based shop couldn’t keep up with fan expectations or artist needs. No APIs, broken UI, no mobile experience and no way to scale. Fans stream and scroll, artists demand realtime stats and control. Meanwhile, monetization needed to evolve, free access, but with smarter microtransactions. We weren’t redesigning a site. We were rebuilding a digital ecosystem.
Approach
Headless and high quality
The platform features a template-based frontend built with Twig and styled using LESS. Charts are calculated in the MakeItLive backend. Audio files are hosted on AWS S3 and delivered via a CDN. A built-in wallet supports credit top-ups and in-app purchases.
Microinteractions, macro engagement
GSAP powers fluid page transitions, animated filters, and hover effects. Adding rhythm without noise. Every movement feels intentional. Every scroll drives deeper into the content. Designed for fans who live fast, but value flow.
