Worn-out beaters become legendary heroes
New collaboration: 24 Hours of Lemons & De Jongens van Boven
The idea is dead simple: buy a beater and race it for 24 hours. Invest whatever is needed for safety, but spend no more than 500 dollars on upgrades to make the car faster. From ready-made builds to hopeless wrecks - everything is allowed, as long as it runs.
The result is a colorful parade of old sedans, decorated wrecks, and brilliantly impractical creations. It’s not about speed, but about ingenuity, perseverance, and above all: fun.
What started as a big wink at traditional endurance racing has grown into a worldwide cult phenomenon, with dozens of races every year across the United States, from GingerMan Raceway in South Haven to MSR Houston in Angleton, and from Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows to New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville.
In the coming period, De Jongens van Boven will design and develop an online matchmaker tool that connects teams, drivers, and crew members - so they can create and experience unforgettable moments together.
